ARE ALL YOUR PIECES HANDMADE?
Yes! Each piece is handcrafted in New Zealand in our seaside sewing studio! We handpick all our vintage and antique textiles globally.
HOW LONG DO CUSTOMS PIECES TAKE TO MAKE?
Turn around times vary, but generally around 6-8 weeks.
HOW SHOULD I WASH MY UP-CYCLED GARMENTS?
When it comes to caring for delicate items, we kindly advise you to treat it with the utmost care. Spot cleaning using a gentle detergent is the best method to ensure its longevity. Please avoid using a washing machine or even a cold soak, as the colorfastness of 100 yr old dyes may bleed. We want to preserve its vibrant hues for years to come.
At Mr. Weekend, we take great pride in our attention to detail. Before sewing, each and every textile is delicately washed using a special restoration detergent. This meticulous process ensures that when you receive your jacket, it has already undergone a pre-wash treatment, enhancing its quality and comfort.
It’s important to note that these quilts were not originally crafted to withstand the modern washing practices or detergents that we commonly use today. Therefore, we highly recommend spot cleaning as the preferred cleaning method to maintain the integrity of these timeless treasures.
Should you have any questions or need further guidance on caring for your delicate item, we are here to assist you.
WHAT DO I DO IF THE GARMENT NEEDS A REPAIR? DO YOU OFFER REPAIRS? WHAT IS THE COST?
Let's say you ripped or stained the garment considerably, don’t be afraid to patch and mend it yourself. Part of the charm is that you can add a bit of history to the garment.
If the job seems a bit challenging, repairs are considered on a case-by-case basis and the cost will be determined upon return. We ask you to send us a photo and we can have a chat about how to give it some new love. Sometimes these little disasters can turn into big silver linings so don’t fret too much!
