This jacket is made from an American, vintage medium/heavy quilt made circa the 1970's-1980's. This piece was made in the traditional Fan quilt pattern, machine pieced and hand quilted. This quilt is so cheerful with pastel pinks/green florals and green gingham cotton fabrics. I intentionally biased cut the quilt to allow the sea-shell pattern to emerge and also to allow the jacket to have swing/better drape regardless of its heavier weight- on the body it feels cozy but not bulky for that reason. The quilt is in excellent condition.
-
This jacket features a generous straight cut silhouette. It swings and moves on the body beautifully, giving it a relaxed yet tastefully artful look.
-
This jacket showcases a loosely draped shawl collar complementing the intentionally placed pattern of the quilt.
-
This jacket has an exaggerated drop shoulder with a slight dolman curve to the underarm.
-
The sleeve is wider due to the thicker nature of the quilt, giving it a very Bohemian Kimono look.
-
The clothing label is made from vintage 1960's fabric.
